Harley & Marley

Here at Atlantis of Kilmore Quay we have built our reputation by delivering quality fresh fish and seafood to top chefs and retailers across Ireland for you the consumer to enjoy. Our focus has always been on bringing the best, with a weather eye on what’s coming next - dreaming up new ways to enjoy the bounty of the seas around us. To that end we are delighted to partner with Harley and Marley by producing a range of fine, Irish, fish-based pet treats.

Portia Quinn and Robin Thompson are 2 pet-loving mums who discovered a mutual passion while walking Harley & Marley on Killiney Hill and started the process of creating a range of fine, Irish Pet Treats made of clean, sustainable ingredients that go through minimal processing, thereby ensuring that our pets get the maximum health benefits as well as delicious natural flavours.

Where better on an island to find planet-loving protein brimming with natural goodness than our clear, unpolluted waters? Portia approached us with a clear vision, to offer top quality pet treats made with fish & so we got to work.

Fish isn’t something new in pet products as it offers a multitude of inherent health benefits to pets such as it is hypoallergenic and easy to digest, naturally high in protein and low in fat and calories and best of all its loaded with Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, supporting healthy skin and coat with anti-inflammatory properties for optimal joint mobility​ but what Harley & Marley offer is a 100% natural product with fish as the single ingredient or small amounts of oats, parsley and seaweed.

The first task was to get the drying correct as fish has such a high moisture content & we needed to get the right balance to hold onto all the benefits while producing a product that was easy for pets to enjoy; not too soft or hard & easy to chew but after many test batches & the seal of approval from our 4 legged friends we knew we were onto a winner.

All fish used in the treats would normally be a waste product but now after some clever thinking it has been turned into top quality dog treats.

Hand Rolled Haddock Skins are produced from the skin from haddock fillets that would be used for fish & chips.

Crunchy Fish Nuggets are packed full of small tail pieces of haddock & trout fillet.

Haddock & Trout Sausages are a similar story, but we also add organic seaweed.

Crispy Whole Sprats are dried to create a crispy & delicious treat which are packed full of Omega Oils.

The treats are gently air-dried, not cooked, meaning that they lose absolutely none of their natural goodness. This is minimal processing at its best.​ They are absolutely junk free and are either single ingredient fish or with minimal ingredients added – oats, parsley and seaweed. No wheat or wheat gluten, unnecessary fillers, additives, artificial colours or flavours are added.

We are BRC and Origin Green-certified and have an obligation to make every possible effort to protect the ocean environment and the life in it for now and for future generations. Sustainability is also at the heart of Harley & Marley so it’s a perfect partnership, the production of the treats reduces unnecessary waste in the environment, supports the local fishing industry, and gives back to the Irish economy. They also pack all of the products in recyclable pouches.​
